Tom Jones “Educator of the Year ” Award

Following the untimely death of one of our educators in 2007, the Board of Directors established the Tom Jones “Educator of the Year ” Award in honor of Tom, who served as one of our Prevention Specialists for 11 years and also as our training officer. Tom Jones shared the FreeWay message with over 67,000 children and youth in 3,100 classroom presentations in 77 different venues across the state.

The first recipient of the Tom Jones “Educator of the Year ” award is Mr. Stephen Mann. Stephen Mann has been a Prevention Specialist for FreeWay Project since 2004. His artistic talents and faithful commitment to sharing the FreeWay message of a drug-free and violence-free lifestyle have inspired thousands of children in the St. Louis metro area public schools.
