Meet
Sharon Bartlett
Dr.
Sharon J. Bartlett, senior vice president of FreeWay Foundation,
is a native of the Missouri Bootheel, born and reared in Malden.
She earned a B.A. degree from National-Louis University, St.
Louis, a Masters degree in Religious Education, a Doctorate
in Addiction Studies from the Pillsbury Institute of Applied
Christianity, St. Louis, as well as a second Doctorate in
Christian Counseling Psychology from Pillsbury College &
Seminary, St. Louis. She completed additional studies at
the University of Utah and Governors State University,
Illinois.
Sharon
joined DATE (Drug Alcohol Tobacco Education, doing-business-as
FreeWay Project) in 1977 as its bookkeeper. Soon after, she
was promoted to Prevention Specialist, a role in which she
conducted more than 1,000 seminars and workshops in hundreds
of schools, and was honored "Educator of the Year."
Dr. Bartlett was promoted to CEO of DATE in 1996, becoming
senior vice president of FreeWay Foundation when it was created
in October, 2001 from the merger of DATE with Christian Civic
Foundation. Dr. Bartlett also serves as
Academic Dean of FreeWay Foundation's educational affiliate,
Pillsbury College & Seminary, offering
distance learning master's and doctoral degree programs for
mid-career ministers.
In
addition to her many humanitarian contributions through her
work with DATE and FreeWay Foundation, Dr. Bartlett has served
in many outside philanthropic roles, including as a member
of the Missouri Governors Task Force on Health Education
for Children, and as a member of the executive committee of
the Board of Directors of the Missouri Federation of Parents.
Dr.
Bartlett is the proud parent of two married children, and
grandparent of five. She resides in St. Charles, Missouri.
